You’ll need a prescription from your healthcare provider. Once you have a prescription, you can get MAVIRET from participating pharmacies.

MAVIRET is a fully funded treatment available in New Zealand. You will NOT have to pay pharmacy fees when you collect your MAVIRET.

The most common side effects of MAVIRET are headache, tiredness, and nausea.
*Some people will need to take MAVIRET for 12 weeks or 16 weeks. Your healthcare professional will tell you how long you will need to take MAVIRET.

Yes, you should have a test to confirm cure* 12 weeks after you have finished your treatment.

*Cure means that the hepatitis C virus has been cleared from the body.

Yes, it’s possible to transmit the virus while on treatment. Continue taking precautions to prevent transmission until you’ve completed treatment, and it has been confirmed that you are virus free.
